Review of Disney's Rise of the Resistance Ride

By Alexis Sanchez on February 17, 2020

So, I recently got to ride on Disney’s Rise of the Resistance ride in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Fl on Saturday, February 2nd. I wrote an article about how you can actually get on the ride, and now I’m going to tell you about the actual ride because it was too cool not to talk about. I also got some pictures of the ride that I’ll share! I won’t give away any key parts from the ride so it will feel just as new for when you get to try on this experience of a ride. Some of the pictures later on in this article might be more so on the spoiler-y side so maybe don’t scroll down too far. So, here is a review of Disney’s Rise of the Resistance ride!

Even before the ride officially starts, you already feel like you are in the newest Star Wars film. The landscape surrounding the outside queue line makes the space feels vast. Disney did a wonderful job of making it seem like the rocks, trees, and waterfalls are never-ending.

Once you are in the line inside the cave that was carved out, the detail in every aspect is phenomenal. There’s fading around lighting and discoloration that looks like there were drippings from the top of the cave from rain. Very well thought out and I could not stop trying to scan and memorize every detail. Then, once you get further in, you start to see materials that a fighter pilot would need to command a Starfighter. Even a completely decked out helmet with padding and protective eye gear just like Poe Dameron’s was in a display case. This really started making me feel like I was about to become a fighter pilot on this ride (so exciting!).

The end of the line leads you to BB-8 rolling around and then sending us a message from Rey that we’re needed on a mission. The message from Rey looked right out of a Star Wars film quality too which got some ooh’s and ah’s. You head out on your own Starfighter that starts up like a real engine and you’re off on your own adventure!

On this adventure, you encounter multiple members of the First Order as you fly, walk to your doom, and try to escape your doom with Stormtroopers right around the corner. This 30-minute ride experience keeps you on your toes the whole time while also letting you come face to face with some of your favorite current Star Wars characters!

I would personally say that this is the best Disney World ride I have been on to date. 10/10 would recommend (and try to get back on the ride as many times as you can!). Do you give this ride the same rating? Let me know!
